A sneak peek of my upcoming collection!
I'm so excited to share a little preview of my new collection of handmade cloth dolls called 'Into the Woods' which is launching on the 1 November. This collection really is my dream wardrobe made in doll size! I've used lots of beautiful Autumn inspired fabrics and my favourite colours of October to make a group of little woodland wanderers ready to go on adventures with you into the forest to collect all the treasures that nature provides for us at this wonderful time of the year.
There are 10 dolls in my new collection - a mixture of 14" and 10" dolls. There are a couple of twin sets if you wanted to buy matching mother and daughter dolls or even sisters.
This is Mesen, a 10" doll. Her name means acorn in Welsh. She loves playing with the fawns in the forest, collecting acorns and making flower mandalas.
Her dress is made out of the most gorgeous dark blue fabric I found with squirrels, bunnies and birds on it. She's also wearing a new hat design that my mum made which has a fur trim to keep her warm as the weather turns colder as we approach winter.
The hats will be available in three colours (dark green, wine and cream) for all three doll sizes.
Next lets meet Mesen's big sister, Melyn Mair who is 14". Her name means marigold in Welsh and she has the cutest little freckles on her face! She loves listening to the birds singing, making flower potions and flying kites.
I've designed some new felt flower headbands in beautiful autumn colours which some of the dolls in this collection are wearing and will also be available to purchase separately. They look beautiful with floral dresses in earth tones.
I love this dress that Bedwen is wearing, it sums up October perfectly! Bedwen means birch in Welsh and she loves painting winter skies, rowan trees and singing with the birds in the woods.
Her big sister Eirin is wearing my new favourite dress - I want to make one for me just like it! The fabric is so reminiscent of Autumn but would also look beautiful paired with a deep red pixie hat and green scarf for Christmas! The lace on her dress is vintage, given to me by my nanna.
Eirin's name means plum in Welsh. She loves falling autumn leaves, collecting pine cones and playing with the fox cubs in the woods. She is a 14" doll.
Sweet little Ywen is wearing a newly designed lace apron over a cotton gauze dress. I love the natural feel of the fabrics and the colours are subtle and beautiful! The flower headband finishes it off perfectly, giving her a delicate autumn look.
Ywen means yew in Welsh. She loves pressing wild flowers, making lavender cookies and sunsets.
Ywen's older sister (or so I like to think!) is Rhosyn, a beautiful 14" doll wearing subtle, yet beautiful earth tones. Her blouse looks beautiful with some of the new pinafores and dungarees that I'm adding to my shop - more of that later!
Rhosyn means rose in Welsh. She loves the smell of roses, making potions from the flowers in the garden and singing Welsh folk songs.
This is Collen - a 14" girl whose name means hazel in Welsh. She loves baking pies, snuggling by the fire and collecting autumn treasures in the woods.
I adore Collen's dress. This beautiful Liberty of London print is perfect for Autumn and matches her gingerbread pixie hat beautifully. I love her rusty tones and the blue brings out the colour of her eyes.
Meet Ceilys. Her name means pink in Welsh. She loves ferns, the sound of autumn leaves crunching when she walks and chocolate chip cookies.
Her dress is made from the most gorgeous 1970s fabric I was lucky enough to acquire. I adore the subtle earth tones and beautiful floral pattern. She is such a sweet shy little thing, you'll love her!
Last, but not least, are these two cuties! I absolutely adore this fabric. It's got lots of little mushrooms and acorns all over it - perfect for forest adventures and foraging!
Helygyn is a 14" doll and her name means willow in Welsh. She loves making pictures out of autumn leaves, finding mushrooms and playing with the squirrels.
Her pixie hat is made from a beautiful mustard coloured wool I was lucky enough to find recently. I couldn't resist adding the cardigan to finish off her outfit. I usually only make cardigans as separates to try to keep the cost of my dolls down, but this cardigan felt like it was made especially for this outfit!
Her sweet little sister is called Derwen, which means oak in Welsh. She is 10" tall and loves painting winter skies, rowan trees and singing with the birds in the woods.
The thing I love most about Derwen is her sweet little smile, like she is full of happy thoughts and exciting secrets she can't wait to tell you!
I'll be adding some new Dwt dresses to my shop in a range of beautiful Liberty of London prints. You'll have the option of adding a matching hat and scarf.
I ran out of time to make outfits for my 6.5" tiny dolls, but if you like any of the outfits I've made for the 10" and 14" dolls send me a message and I can make a tiny-size version for you!
For the first time, you will also be able to buy corduroy pinafores and dungarees for your 10" and 14" dolls. I've made them in three beautiful autumnal colours - olive, rust and wine. There will be also be three matching blouses that you can mix and match with all three coloured pinafores and dungarees - so you can create your own unique outfit for your doll!
'Into the Woods' will launch on Friday 1 November at 1pm UK (the clocks changed in the UK last weekend, so please check the time difference where you are!)
Lots of love
